SOUTH BEND - Memorial services for Dr. William L. Colip, 69, of Grand Prairie, Texas, formerly of South Bend, who died about 5 a.m.
Friday in Dallas Methodist Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Grand Prairie First United taken place. Southland Funeral Methodist Church. Cremation has Home, Grand Prairie, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colip Scholarship Fund of the First United Methodist Church, 122 N. Center St., Grand Prairie, Texas, 75050, or the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Colip was a physician in Grand Prairie for 38 years. He was born Aug. 22, 1920, in South Bend.
On Feb. 10, 1945, in Oklahoma, he married Olga Shearin. She survives with a daughter, Kathy Colip of Dallas; two sons, Greg of Houston and Terry of Denver; five grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy M. Thompson and Mary G. Colip, both of South Bend; and a brother, Charles D. of South Bend.
He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1944, was a veteran of the Army and was a member of the Masons, the church, Dallas County Medical Board, the Rotary Chorus and the YMCA and was a Paul Harris Rotary Fellow.
