D. Eleanor Rea, 82, residing at Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth, Ind., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died at 9:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth. She was born March 11, 1920, in South Bend, as the daughter of William Chester and Grace Estelle (Stuck) Rea, and had remained a lifelong resident of this community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a brother, Ivo Rea in 1983.

She retired from the South Bend Community School Corporation where she served as a secretarial assistant in the visual aids-art department. She was a member of Broadway Christian Parish, South Bend. She was a retouch artist, and did artwork for several studios in the area. She also taught art at the Senior Citizens Center at Howard Park.

Eleanor is survived by a brother, Robert Virgil (Helen) Rea of South Bend; a sister-in-law, Harriet Rea of Naples, Fla.; and by three nieces and four nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan St., South Bend. Rev. Hosea Drake, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, will officiate.Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Monday in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel.
