John K. Stephenson

SOUTH BEND - John K. Stephenson, 70, of 17169 Indiana 23, died at 2:15 p.m. Friday in Renton Terrace Nursing Center, Renton (Wash.), after an illness. He was an insurance adjustor for Western Adjustment and Inspection Co. in Illinois and North Dakota. Born Feb. 8, 1920, in Avilla (Ind.), he lived most of his life in this area.
On June 14, 1941, he married Margaret Yockey, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Kathleen Erb of Bellevue, Wash., and Jeanne Anacker of Redmond, Wash.; three grandchildren; and a brother, Ross K. Stephenson of South Bend.
Mr. Stephenson was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 30th Infantry Div. in Europe. He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans Post 15, Goshen, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2284, Edwardsburg, North America Hunting Club, National Wildlife Association, and he was a volunteer driver with the DAV.
A memorial mass will be Monday at Mary Queen of Peace Church, Issaquah (Wash.), with graveside services at 1 p.m. at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Bellevue, Wash. Green Funeral Home, Redmond, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to National Wildlife Federation or DAV Volunteer Drivers' Program
