Services for Jack Edward Tingley, 68, of 52627 Jackie Lane, who was dead on arrival at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Mr. Tingley retired in 1977 from TRW Co., Los Angeles, as a design engineer after 20 years. He was born Oct. 5, 1919, in Paris, Ill., and had lived in South Bend most of his life.

He is survived by a daughter, Sherry Ward of Ontario, Calif.; a son, Daniel S. of San Diego; a granddaughter; a brother, Lester of Cassopolis; and his mother, Cecile Tingley of South Bend. He was a member of the fathers' auxiliary of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 624, Roseland, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
