Edythe Blanche “Mickey” (Myers) Sessler Krakowski
Apr 18, 1920 - Apr 13, 2016
MISHAWAKA - Edythe “Mickey” Sessler-Krakowski, 95, returned to her heavenly home on April 13, 2016, after a long, fulfilling life. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in and ultimately gave her peace.
Mickey was born to the late Franklin and Ruth Myers in South Bend on April 18, 1920.
Mickey married the late Eugene L. Sessler in June, 1942 and they were blessed with a small, loving family. She later married the late Al Krakowski in September, 1989.
Mickey resided in Mishawaka with her daughter, Darla, and her grandchildren, Andrew and Amanda Merrill. She was a former member of DFV German Club Ladies Auxiliary, an avid bowler in the Michiana area, and a Euchre player at Battell Center in Mishawaka. Her love of family was sometimes surpassed by her love of animals.
Mickey is survived by her daughters, Jacklyn (Ron) Pressler of Goshen, Marsha (Dennis) Sessler- Johnson of Richmond, Virginia, and Darla (Joe) Sessler-Carroll of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Michael Quinn, David Kemper, Adam Carroll, Andrew Merrill, and Amanda Merrill, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Ruth Ann of Michigan.
A private memorial service will be conducted by Father Kevin of Our Lady of Hungary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sumday Farms Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 201, Mishawaka, IN 46546; or Harbor Light Hospice, 1608 East Day Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
