Maurice A. Scheyving

Maurice A. Scheyving, 90, from South Bend, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010, at the Morningside Nursing Home in South Bend. Maurice was born on March 30, 1920 in South Bend to the late Edward and Maria (Noteboom) Scheyving.

Maurice married the former Helen Vanderheyden on September 2, 1945 at the Twin Branch Bible Church in Mishawaka. Maurice and Helen shared 64 wonderful years of marriage together.

Maurice is survived by his wife Helen and their two sons, Kenneth L.(Andrea) Scheyving of Auburn, WA and Keith L. (Veronica) Scheyving of Winnetka CA. Maurice was a loving and caring grandfather to a granddaughter, Kimberly and grandson Josuha.

Maurice served his country during W.W. II in the United States Air Corp receiving an honorable discharge in 1945. After the service Maurice worked for Levy-Ward Grocery Company for 23 ½ years. He also worked for Wheelabrator-Frye as a lay-out man in the steel shop, retiring after 13 ½ years of service. Maurice and Helen were able to travel together and enjoy all of the fifty states of the United States.

There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be private. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Bubb Funeral Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements
