John W. Taylor

John W. Taylor, 68, of 824 Calhoun St., died about 8:35 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. He was a member of Local 150 of the Operating Engineers union. Mr. Taylor was born Sept. 9, 1920, in South Bend, and was a lifetime area resident.

On Oct. 26, 1946, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, he married Dorothy A. Hufkens. She survives with a daughter, Susan M. Taylor at home, and his stepfather. Alfred Smith of Niles.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Hahn-Ballard Funeral Home, 118 S. Mill St. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, American Legion Post 50 and South Bend Eagles, Aerie 423
