CRYSTAL LAKE Arbutus "Boots" Royer, 69, a legal secretary for 30 years, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 1990, at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. Born Feb. 25, 1921, in South Bend, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Bessie Mae Ullery.

Mrs. Royer was the mother of Sheryl Hawley of Crystal Lake; the grandmother of Michael (Kathy) Hawley of Lake Zurich and Krista Hawley of Barrington; and the sister of Emmy in Indiana and Cleo in Florida.
