Mary Marie “Betty” Warner Myers

SOUTH BEND - Betty M. Myers, 92, residing in South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend IN. Mrs. Myers was a secretary with the South Bend Community School Corporation, retiring in 1981 after 28 years of service. She was born on August 25, 1920, in Argos, IN, to the late Charles E. and Frances M. (Pomeroy) Warner, and remained a lifelong area resident.

On October 5, 1941, in South Bend, IN, she married Lawrence L. Myers, who survives. Along with her loving husband of 70 years, Lawrence Myers, she is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Akai of South Bend; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark Remus) Carroll, Jeffrey (Tracy) Carroll, Jessica (Lee) Kendall and Carol Akai; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Austin, Parker and Nolan.

One brother, Robert Warner, preceded her in death.

Betty and Lawrence enjoyed their cottage at Indian Lake "Tice Beach" in Dowagiac, Michigan, for 35 years. They enjoyed the winters in Bonita Springs, FL. Mrs. Myers was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Women's Auxiliary of American Turners and Women's Auxiliary of Avalon Grotto
