Eleanor E. (Close) Springman

Eleanor E. Springman, 78, formerly of North 29th Street in South Bend, Ind., passed away after a lengthy illness on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the the Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Mobile, Ala.

She was born on Feb. 10, 1920, to Mr. Fred and Ida Close in Benton Harbor, Mich. She worked at Ball-Band, retiring in 1969. On June 29, 1940, she married Sedrick Springman in South Bend.

He preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Wolff of Gautier, Miss.; five sons, Larry Springman of Mishawaka, Ind., James Springman of Mishawaka, Dennis Springman of South Bend, Jerry Springman of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Gary Springman of Bronson, Mich.; and by 25 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Officiating the services will be Rev. Rudolph Mueller, Burial will be at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, Ind
