CHARLOTTE - Mr. Nelson Eugenes Spyglass "Bompi" Place Likes, died 72, March of 6, 1992, at home. Funeral is 3 p.m. Sunday at Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill, with the Rev. Sam Parker officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in South Bend, Ind. Visitation is 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Likes was a retired salesman.

He was a World War II Navy veteran, a Navy Seabee, President of the Pawtucket "On the Green" Homeowners Association, and member of Fort Mill Band Pit Crew.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Beverly Jean Peters Likes; daughter, Jeanne Rapp of Tega Cay; sister, Mrs. Gladys Likes Hatfield of Azle, Tex.; two grandchildren.
