SOUTH BEND — Otto Joseph Miller Jr., 85, passed away on Sunday, January 7, in Lansing, Michigan. He was born on February 2, 1921, in South Bend, to the late Beulah and Otto Joseph Miller Sr. On June 10, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, he married Ruth Shriner, who preceded him in death on September 3, 1993. Mr. Miller was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Alice Bush and Doris Sweeney.

Mr. Miller is survived by four sons, Charles (Theresa) Miller of Okemos, MI, David Miller of Santa Barbara, CA, Ronnie Miller of Los Angeles, CA, and Daniel (Margaret Upsall) Miller of Bloomington, IN; five grandchildren, Charles (Amy) Miller Jr., Lara Miller, Christopher Miller, Clark (Katina) Miller and Kaitlyn Miller; and four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Maximilian, Olivia and Sophia.

Mr. Miller was a tool-and-die maker and was eventually an owner of United Tool and Die in Mishawaka, IN, before he retired. He was a member of Community Congregational Church, South Bend.

Viewing for Mr. Miller will be at 11 a.m.Thursday, Jan.11, in Community Congregation Church, 19671 Cleveland Road, South Bend, followed by services at noon. Entombment will follow the services in Riverview Cemetery Mausoleum, South Bend.

The Welsheimer Family Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
