Robert Edmond Koepke

Robert Edmond Koepke, 82, residing on Birchwood Drive, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 10:42 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind. He was born on June 6, 1921, in Hammond, Ind., to Edward and Glenda E.(Hudson) Koepke, and was a lifelong area resident.
On Jan.31, 1942, in Shipshewana, Ind., he married Haroldene June Sigerfoos, who Mishawakasurvives. Along with his loving wife, Haroldene Koepke of Mishawaka, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Sue (Paul) Slusser of Osceola, Ind., and Debbie Mroczek of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Curt Jones of Elkhart, Ind., Sheryl Gerald of Elkhart, Kraig Archibald of Middlebury, Ind., and Eric Mroczek of Mishawaka; two great-grandchildren, Jessica Rupchock and Ehren Mroczek; and by a great- great-grandson, Brandon Trigg.
Mr.Koepke was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela M. Ragsdale; a great-grandson, Bryan Rupchock;and by a brother, Glenn Malott.
Mr.Koepke retired in 1986 as a bartender at the Morris Park Country Club after 25 years of service. He served in the U.S.Army during World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1945 after three years with Company C, 534th Chemical Mortar Battalion. He was a lifetime member of American Legion #161 and VFW #360, and was a member of the Northern Indiana Art Association.
Memorial services for Mr. Koepke will be held at noon on Friday, Dec.12, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Greg Crump will officiate. Military graveside services and burial will follow at St.Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.until time of services on Friday in the funeral home.
