Earl Edward Behney Jr.
Friends may call at the L. McGann funeral home. Mr. Behney, a messenger employed by the Western Union Telegraph company, was knocked from his bicycle while delivering a message, by a car driven by W. M. Kuehl, 69, of 2236-Dixieway North, Roseland, this county, when, according to a report to Coroner Goraczewski and Sheriff Steve Molnar. Mr. Behney's bicycle swerved from the berm into the path of Mr. Kuehl's car.
He was believed at first to have been injured only slightly, but at 6 p. m. Wednesday he suffered a relapse and was submitted to surgery at 9 p.m. Wednesday, remaining unconscious until his death. Coroner Goraczewski stated an autopsy revealed Mr. Behney died as the result of an internal brain hemorrhage.
Mr. Behney was porn in Harrisburg, Pa., in February, 1921, and came here in 1929 with parents. Mr. and Mrs. Earl E. Behney, Sr.
He was graduated from Riley High school in June, 1940.
Besides his parents leaves his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna Penner, of Harrisburg, who arrived here Thursday night and was at his bedside when he died.
Friends will be received in the Forest G. Hay funeral home after 10 a.m. Saturday and until the funeral there at 2 p. 1 m. Monday. Rev. E. Burns Martin, D. D., pastor of First Methodist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery
