Maurice Dilling Hawbaker

September 18, 1922 - June 9, 2013 90 years old

Maurice Dilling Hawbaker of Liberty Hill, Texas passed away on Sunday, June
9, 2013 after a long battle with esophageal cancer. He is survived by his
children Marcia (Elliot) Gross and Martin (Caroline) Hawbaker, grandchildren
Josh Gross, Jake (Kristin) Gross, Jessica (Dustin) Shea and Brad Hawbaker,
four great-grandchildren, sister Eileen Souder and brother Lyle(Carol)
Hawbaker.

He was preceded in death by wife Caryl, who died in 1957, and
wife Joan, who died in 2006.

Maurice was born in Hagerstown, Indiana to Merlin and Bertha Hawbaker on
September 18, 1922.

He graduated from Riley High School in South Bend, Indiana and Indiana
University.

He proudly served in both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Navy.
Maurice worked as a CPA retiring from Lumbermans Investment in 1982. He
enjoyed traveling the country in his motor home and boating.

He was active in many community organizations and especially enjoyed times
spent with family. Maurice was a member of the Liberty Hill Methodist
Church.

Cremation was chosen following Maurice’s wishes and a private family service
will take place.
