Virginia Elizabeth (Hobbs) Bolf

SOUTH BEND - Virginia Elizabeth Hobbs Bolf, 85, of DeLand, FL, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009. She was born August 27, 1923, in Ireland, Indiana, the daughter of DeWitt T. and Jennie (Van Fleet) Hobbs. She moved to Ft. Lauderdale from South Bend, Indiana, in 1958. Virginia was loved by all who knew her for her wonderful sense of humor and her quiet, gentle nature. She and her beloved husband, Edwin Farrell Bolf Jr., who preceded her in death, enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and spending time with their many friends, but most of all, Virginia treasured every moment spent with her family.

She is survived by her four children, Cynthia A. Barbour, Tampa, FL, Susan K. Englert (Mark), Longwood, FL, Edwin F. "Bud" Bolf III, Rochester, NY, Thomas R. Bolf (Caroline), Plantation, FL; grandchildren, Amy Barbour Dunkel (Rex), Beth Barbour Wolfgang (Curtis), Kevin M. Englert, Timothy R. Englert, Jonathan Edwin Englert, Virginia M. Englert, Sarah R. Bolf and Katie E. Bolf; great-grandchildren, Hannah Wolfgang, Jacob Wolfgang, Andrew Wolfgang and Cordelia Dunkel. Virginia is also survived by her brother, Mohler J. Hobbs, Riverview, FL; and her nieces, Jennifer Hobbs Vaughn (Joe), Metrarie, LA, Kimble Hobbs Englade (Steve), Slidell, LA, Heather Hobbs Karl (Timothy), Pearl River, LA, and Kelly Hobbs Victor (Harold), Grapevine, TX; and her nephew, Rob Hobbs (Jennifer), Lithia, FL; as well as many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, from 6-8 p.m., with a wake service at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church in DeLand, with Father Tom Connery officiating. Entombment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in DeLand. Allen-Summerhill Funeral Home in DeLand is in charge of arrangements.
