Walter Owen Kurtz

EVANSVILLE - Walter Owen Kurtz, 100, of Evansville, passed away December 10, 2021 at the Linda E. White Hospice House. He was born November 13, 1921 in Flint, Michigan to the late Harriet Velinda (Owen) and Raymond L. Kurtz, Sr. Walter was a United States Army World War II veteran and a recipient of the Bronze Star.

He worked as an Art Director at Keller-Crescent Company. Walter is survived by his son, Robert Hewitt Kurtz; step-daughter, Mary Glee Newbold Brammall; grandchildren, Karla Kurtz Fowler, Bob Kurtz, and Benjamin Kurtz; and step-granddaughter, Laurie Marder; and great grandchildren, Lydia, Layne, and Leah Fowler. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mary Bramell Henshall Kurtz; siblings, Harriet V. Kurtz, Margaret Kurtz Tansey, Raymond L. Kurtz, Jr., and Jeanne Kurtz.

It was Walter’s wish to have private family services. Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel, 6300 N. First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710 has handled the arrangements.
