LT Joseph E. Lahey

LAHEY - Joseph E. Lahey, 56, of Lafayette, Calif a former South Bend resident, died Wednesday, Jan 24, 1979, in his home after a two year illness. He was chartered life underwriter and worked in a South Bend insurance agency until 1949 when he moved to Chicago and later to Oakland, Calif as a general agent. He was born in 1922, in South Bend. and had graduated from Riley High School and the University of Michigan.

Lahey was a naval officer in World War II

He married Virginia Stevens. formerly of South Bend, who survives, along with a daughter, Miss Sarah Lahey of San Francisco: four sons, Michael, David. Timothy and Gregory Lahey, all of the San Francisco area, and two brothers, James H. Lahey of South Bend and Walter I). Lahey of Pelham Manor, N.Y.

Services will be held Monday in St. Perpetua Catholic Church in Lafayette. The Hulls and Walnut Creek Home. Walnut Creek, Calif., is in charge of arrangements
