Martha Lou (Miller) McKinney
Aug. 28, 1926 – June 5, 2004
Martha Lou McKinney, 77, Venice, Fla., was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 5. She was born in South Bend, Ind., on Aug.28, 1926, and moved to Venice 19 years ago from Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Lewis McKinney; and by her sister, Mary Jane Lytle of Wisconsin.
Surviving are her sons, Michael W. McKinney of Florida and Christopher McKinney (Robynn) of Michigan; and four wonderful grandchildren, Molly and Ryan McKinney of Florida, and Andrew and Michael S. McKinney of Michigan.
She graduated from DePauw University, was a member of the Venice Presbyterian Church, and was active in the Venice-Nokomis Women’s Club and Delta Delta Delta.
Life presented Martha Lou with its full range of situations. Her example to each of us was to respond with love, caring, faithfulness, a sense of humor, and a positive though realistic approach. Her vitality was a blessing. Those who knew her retained fond and lasting memories.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, June 11, at 11 a.m.in Venice Presbyterian Church, 111 Firenze Ave., Venice, FL 34285, where the family will receive visitors up to one hour prior to the service, followed by a luncheon. Contributions in her memory may be made to Venice Presbyterian Church, 111 Firenze Ave., Venice, FL 34285
