James Wallace Knapp

SOUTH BEND - James Wallace Knapp, 87, of North Carolina, formerly of South Bend, passed away on Friday, July 20, in North Carolina. Born August 5, 1919, he was the son of the late Wallace Leroy and June (Wagner) Knapp. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Wolfe Knapp. Mr. Knapp is survived by a daughter, Nancy Anne (John) Evans; two sons, James Richard Knapp and Brian Jeffrey (Tana) Knapp; two grandchildren, Nicole and David Knapp; and a great-granddaughter, Summer Condlin.

He was proud to have served as a U.S. Marine during World War II. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m.Saturday at Southlawn Cemetery. The McGann Hay Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
