SOUTH BEND - Joseph Michael Werntz, 54, of Jensen Beach, FL passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Harper House Hospice, Stuart, FL, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on June 19, 1963 in South Bend to the late Robert and Lorraine (Talarico) Werntz. He is survived by his former wife, Jenny (Ringelski), his daughter, Samantha Jo Werntz, and his son, Robert Alan Werntz, all of South Bend; a grandson, Neiko; a sister, Lori (Jim)Robinson of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Bob Werntz of Evansville, IN and twin John (Carole) Werntz of Mishawaka; and by several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Robin Mott. Joseph worked as a chauffeur before retirement. Joe was an avid ND football fan and loved living on his boat, in what he considered paradise (Florida). He was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
