Scott Jay Disler

Scott Jay Disler, 46, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died in his home on Sunday, Jan.8, 2006, in Vero Beach.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; sons, Scott J.Smith of Vero Beach and Chris of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and daughter, Tiffany of Fort Pierce; stepson, Denny Spiegel Jr. of Vero Beach; and stepdaughters, Charlsie and Marissa Spiegel, both of Vero Beach; three granddaughters of Vero Beach; his mother, Dolores (Doty) Delauter Disler Brown of Clearwater, Fla.; father, Jack Ray Disler of Mishawaka, Ind.; stepmother, Mary Pat Hatcher Disler of South Bend; sister, Kay Ellen McDaniel of Green Bay, Wis.; brother, Blaine of Niles, Mich.; and stepbrother, Wm.Sean Hatcher of Seattle.

He attended Riley High School, South Bend. He participated in track and football. He enjoyed watching sports, especially Notre Dame. He loved hearing and telling jokes. He was known as “the jokester.” He will be missed.

Services were held on Jan. 12, 2006, in Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach, Fla.
