Virginia A. “Ginny” (Anderson) Gilreath

SOUTH BEND - Virginia "Ginny" A. Gilreath, 87, of South Bend, passed away at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Healthwin Hospital, South Bend. She was previously employed at Uniroyal Corporation and was a homemaker. She was born on January 6, 1921, in South Bend, IN to Henry and Catherine (Eskin) Anderson and was a lifelong resident.

On June 27, 1951, in South Bend, IN she married William Gilreath, who preceded her in death on September 22, 2004. Mrs. Gilreath is survived by her two daughters, Laurie (Tim) Robertson of South Bend and Suzan (Eric) Strantz of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Jason Robertson, Jeremy Robertson, Jennifer Robertson, Christopher Strantz, and Kasee Strantz; one great-granddaughter, Karlee Ann Robertson; nephew, Ricky Anderson; and nieces, Valerie Messer and Lisa Callahan.

Her brother, Earl Anderson preceded her in death.

Mrs. Gilreath loved to be around her family. She was an avid Notre Dame football fan and was in a bridge club with the same group for over 40 years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend. Pastor Jim Bayer will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Virginia Gilreath may be offered to the National Kidney Foundation, 911 E. 86th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
