Irene Lillian (Bedi) Kovatch

Irene L. Kovatch, 83, of Cheryl Drive, Granger, Ind., formerly of West Ewing Avenue, South Bend, passed away at 8:06 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Irene was born Aug. 3, 1 922, in Lorane, Ohio, and had resided in the Michiana area for her entire lifetime.

On November 8, 1941, in South Bend, as Irene L. Bedi, she married John Steven Kovatch, who preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1975.

Mrs. Kovatch is survived by two daughters, Nancy H. DiLullo of Las Vegas, Nev., and Kristine M. (Joseph) Alinsky of Michigan City, Ind.; three sons, John R. (Michelle) Kovatch of Granger, Ind., Mark S. (Jeanette) Kovatch of Louisville, Ky, and Matthew L. (Laurie) Kovatch of Las Vegas. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren whom she loved and cherished; and a sister, Margaret Hoffer of South Bend.

Irene was preceded in death by her loving husband, and by a brother, Robert J. Bedi.

Irene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her loving family as they did her.

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Sept. 16, in Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road Indiana 23, South Bend. A Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger, Ind. Visitation in the church one hour prior to the service. The Rev.
