Doris Bunch (Braithwaite)

Doris (Bunch) Braithwaite

May 29, 1921 - Aug 13, 1922

Braithwaite, Doris, August 13, 2022 was the day the heavenly choir gained a first soprano by the name of Doris Braithwaite. Born May 29, 1921, in South Bend, Indiana, it soon became apparent that Doris would be a musician her entire life. Playing piano by age four, attending Kalamazoo College on a voice scholarship, graduating from St. Olaf College with a degree in music, thus began her career as a music teacher, church pianist, organist, choir director, and vocal soloist for the next several decades.

At Kalamazoo College she met and married the love of her life, Robert Braithwaite, and raised two daughters, Carmina (Peggy) Jenks and Gail Williams.

We are left with the beautiful music she made and much joy to be remembered. If you would like to listen to her angelic voice on YouTube, there are several recordings of her from the time she was ninety to ninety-two. We give much gratitude for the loving care Doris received at Arbor Acres over her long history there.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
