NORTH LIBERTY — Helen Louise Hensley, 89, of North Liberty, IN, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Monday, October 18, 2010, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton, IN. She was born on May 2, 1921, in Oolitic, Indiana, to Raymond and Mabel (Robinson) Burnett.

On December 30, 1960, in North Liberty, IN, she married Charles E. Hensley, who preceded her in death on August 25, 2008.

Mrs. Hensley is survived by three daughters, Sue (Dennis) Lemert of North Liberty, IN, Sandra (Wayne) Tumbleson of Lakeville, IN, and Barbara (Vaughn) Eastburn of North Liberty, IN; son, Terry (Janice) O’Connor of South Bend, IN; nine grandchildren, Gary (Teresa) Lemert, Chris (Christine) Lemert, Ron Lemert, Randy (Sharon) Lemert, Jeff Tumbleson, Melissa (Brian) Horvath, Brett (Chrisa) Eastburn, Krista (Wesley, M.D.) Heroman and Ryan O’Connor; 16 great-grandchildren and three great- great-grandchildren; and brother, Ray Burnett Jr.of South Bend, IN.

Two sisters, Melvena Whitacker and Marjorie Ruth Burnett, and a brother, William Burnett, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hensley graduated from the old Riley High School. She retired in 1966 from Wells Aluminum after 10 years of service. She was a member of the St.Joseph County Chorus. She was a member of the North Liberty Church of Christ where she was a former Sunday school teacher and taught Bible School. She sang in the church choir and had a love for music. Mrs. Hensley traveled extensively, visiting every one of the 50 states.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010, in the North Liberty Church of Christ, 65225 State Road 23, North Liberty.Rev. Tim Stewart will officiate. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m.today in the church, and one hour prior to the services on Thursday. Palmer Funeral Home- Lakeville, is handling arrangements.
