Phil J. DeMeulenaere

NILES - Phil J. DeMeulenaere, 70, of 2635 S. 13th St., died at 11:30 p.m. Monday in his home after an illness. Mr. DeMeulenaere was retired from Parrish Machine Co., South Bend. He was born June 8, 1922, in Belgium, and had lived in Niles since 1943, coming from South Bend.

In May in Niles, he married Margaret P. West. She died Feb. 1, 1984.

Surviving are three daughters, Sally McLaughlin of Chandler, Ariz., Susan Money and Wendy Knight, both of Niles; three sons, Phil J. II of Bridgman, Barry and Mark, both of Niles; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother, Anna of South Bend; and two sisters, Marie Leddy and Irene Taylor, both of South Bend.

Mr. DeMeulenaere was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Halbritter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home
