GREENWOOD Ronald E. Gray went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at Regency Place of Greenwood. He was a resident of Greenwood. He was born Aug. 30, 1921, in Piqua, Ohio. His parents were William and Mildred (Ferguson) Gray.

He married Genevieve (McNabb) Gray on Nov. 18, 1942. She survives along with a daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Michael Benyon; two grandchildren, Alison and Christopher Benyon; a brother, Lowell Gray of Titusville, Fla.; and a sister, Marilyn Murray of Princeton, N.J.

He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Gray Jr.

He served during World War II in the Navy Band in Trinidad, West Indies. He graduated from Indiana University in 1947 with a degree in business administration, retiring in 1985 from Crown International in Elkhart as an industrial engineer. During retirement, he was a board member and later office manager and Bible teacher at Lighthouse Mission in Indianapolis.

During the 1970s, he was a Midwest leader of Lay Ministries- Faith at Work. In the 1980s, he was part of the music ministry team at Regency Place in Greenwood. He was a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church. Celebration service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6111 Shelby St., Indianapolis.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Memorial gifts have been suggested to Senior Ministries, Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6111 Shelby St., Indianapolis, IN 46227, and Alzheimer’s Association
