Elmo L. Ledley

SOUTH BEND Elmo L. Ledley, 77, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 6, at Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, May Ledley; three children, Jackie Warner Kahmann and her husband Jim of Huntington Beach, Calif., Jill Garberick and her husband Dean of Elkhart, Ind., and son, Benjamin L. Ledley and his wife Teresa of Murrieta, Calif.; five grandchildren, Derrick Garberick and his wife Beth of Terre Haute, Ind., Traci Garberick of Elkhart, Ryan, Scott and Michelle Ledley of Murrieta, Calif.; and by his sister, Virginia Herron and her husband Robert, who reside in Goshen, Ind.
Elmo was born in and lived his life in South Bend. He graduated from Riley High School in 1939.
He serviced in the U.S. Navy for 5 1/2 years during World War Il, achieving the rank of chief boatswain's mate acting. Elmo retired from the Bendix Corporation after working there for 35 years as a layout inspector. His retirement years were enjoyed by travel, family and grandchildren.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Ridgedale Presbyterian Church, South Bend
