Paul J. Mattasits (nee Mattaschitz)

Paul J. Mattasits, 76, of Apple Ridge Court, South Bend, passed away at 9:55 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mr. Mattasits was born on Oct. 23, 1920, in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident. He retired in December 1984, after 15 years as a plant superintendent at Curtis Products.
On Oct. 19, 1946, in St. Matthew Cathedral, South Bend, he married Frances Wukowich, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Janet Gentry of Chesterton, Ind.; a son, Michael Mattasits and his wife, Roberta, of Indianapolis; two granddaughters, Lisa Mattasits of Birmingham, Ala., and Jill Mullen and her husband Ronald of Crown Point, Ind.; and a sister, Margaret Domnanovich of South Bend.
A son, Brian Mattasits, preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 1966.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, in St. Pius X Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery
