Cepha A. Miller, 83, of East Fairington Circle, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2005, in Regency Place of South Bend. Mrs. Miller, in her youth, worked in the clerical and bookkeeping fields for the Bendix Corporation and the Bank of America, Pasadena, CA. She was born on November 12, 1921, in Mylan, Missouri, to the late Jack and Rose Louella (Baker) McCarthy, and had lived in this area most of her life.

On August 17, 1952, in South Bend, she married Earl J. Miller, who preceded her in death on August 17, 1978.

Survivors include her daughter, Cindy (Neil) Frushour of South Bend; two grandchildren, Lyndsey of Bloomington, IN, and Jonathan of South Bend; and an aunt, Vivian "Bubby" Miller of South Bend.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2005, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan St., South Bend, IN. Rev. William Howell will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, and may also call one hour prior to services in the funeral home on Tuesday.

Cepha was an avid reader and loved to write poetry. As a young woman, she sang in the church choir. She never missed a day of reading her daily devotions and was baptized and had loyalties to Grace United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2410 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545; or to the American Diabetes Association, 7363 East 21st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219.
