Jo Anne (McIntyre) Weller

July 7, 1921 - Jan. 8, 2012

MISHAWAKA - JoAnne Weller passed away in St. Joseph Hospital on January 8, 2012, after a brief illness at the young age of 90. JoAnne was born July 7, 1921, in Ada, Ohio, to Raymond and LaVonne (Cox) McIntyre, and had lived in South Bend since childhood. JoAnne is survived by two children, Thomas A. (Kaye) Weller of Vandallia, MI, and Martha J. (Les) Nemeth of Granger; one granddaughter, Kelly J. (Peter) Kirkwood of Fishers; and a great-granddaughter, Helen J. Kirkwood of Fishers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Richard, Raymond, James and Tommy McIntyre; and her husband, Arthur D. Weller.

She enjoyed the simple things in life like reading a good book, researching family history, and spending time with her beloved pets she cherished through the years. JoAnne worked for Real Services and the Foster GrandParents program. She was very proud of her granddaughter and getting to know her great-granddaughter. JoAnne was a wonderful mother and best friend. We will miss her dearly, and look forward to the day when we can all be together again.

There will be no funeral or visitation, and cremation will take place. Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County.
