Wilmer Eugene Moore

Wilmer E. Moore, formerly of South Bend, IN passed away in Bradenton, FL on Saturday, June 2nd, at the age of 86.

Wilmer was born in Elkhart, IN. He was a veteran pilot of the U.S. Army Air Force from 1943 to 1945, and served as a reservist from 1945 to 1963. Wilmer was a craftsman who built homes in the Michiana and Bradenton area. He retired from Carl Buddig and Company in 1983. His lifelong hobby of restoring cars started when he worked on the prototype for the Tucker automobile.

He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Huebsch of Milwaukee, WI and Kathleen Moore of Chicago, IL; a son, Randy Moore of Niles, MI. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Shane, Jon, Nick, Josh, Joel, Nick and Pat; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Blackstone of Fruitland Park, FL.

He will be greatly missed by other relatives and friends.

Burial took place at Manasota Memorial Park in Bradenton, FL. Memorial contributions may be made to a hospice of your choice.
