MISHAWAKA - Services for Herman "Whitey" Ruch, 68, of 1132 E. Third St., who died at 12:05 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Abundant Life Fellowship, South Bend. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call until 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Warner Funeral Home, Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Mr.

Ruch was a cement finisher for Reinke Construction, retiring in 1983, and drove the special education bus for Penn-Harris-Madison School Corp. He was born April 25, 1921, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On May 16, 1980, in Mishawaka, he married Dixie Jean Vale, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Patricia McKibbon of Woods of Pierce, FL, Becky Law Ruch of Mishawaka; three sons, Tom Jeffries of South Bend, Gary S. Ruch of Miramar, FL, and David Ruch of Arlington Heights, IL;13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Dean of Edgewater, FL.; and an aunt, Ruth Tressler of Warsaw.

He was a member of the Plasterers and Cement Masons Union Local 101, South Bend, the Teamsters Union and the church.
