Ernestine M. (Stegmann) Shanafelt

Ernestine Shanafelt, aged 28, of 3522 East Jefferson boulevard, died at 10:45 a. m., Friday in St. Joseph hospital after an illness of several weeks.

She was born in South Bend March 4, 1921, and was married here Aug. 31, 1940, to Elmer Shanafelt, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Barbara Ann, Carol Suzanne, Gertrude Grace and Bobby Leroy, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. C. W. Inks, of South Bend, and Mrs. E. E. Weaver, of Tucson, Ariz., and a brother, Fred H. Stegmann, of South Bend.

Friends may call Sunday in Hollis chapel until the funeral to be held at 9 a. m. Tuesday in St. Monica's Catholic church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Anthony Badina, pastor, officiating. Burial St. Joseph Valley Memorial park.

Mrs. Shanafelt was a member of Rosary society circle No. 6, of St. Monica's church
