Mishawaka, IN - Elizabeth J. "Betty" Rogers, 79 years old, residing in Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 4:25 A.M. on Monday, November 13, 2000, at the Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in South Bend, from natural causes. She had been a resident at the center for 1 week. Mrs. Rogers was born on April 23, 1921, in South Bend, to the late Otto and Estell Wilma (Guise) Welcome. She has been a lifelong area resident.

On November 23, 1941, in South Bend, she married Donald J. Rogers, who preceded in death on May 29, 1990. One son, Charles E. Rogers, preceded in death in 1993; one grandson, Andrew DeBroka, preceded in 1999; and one sister, Virginia Ruth Welcome, also preceded in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte and James DeBroka of Mishawaka; one son, John Rogers of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Benjamin Rogers of Missouri, Erik DeBroka of Decatur, MI, John Rogers Jr. of Kansas, Aaron Rogers of Terre Haute and Kayla Rogers of Mishawaka; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Wayne L. and Pat Welcome of South Bend.

Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Southlawn United Methodist Church in South Bend. She was a homemaker, and also worked at the former Pricketts in Mishawaka for 10 years.
