Dorothy Irene (Williams) Hoke

ELKHART, IN. — Dorothy Irene Hoke, 96, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart. She was born Aug. 2, 1921, in South Bend, to Daniel and Lucy (Collins) Williams.

Survivors include her four children, Sharon (Hugh) Smock of Salisbury, North Carolina, Gordon (Janet) Hoke of Mishawaka, Rochelle “Shelley” Hoke of Elkhart and Diana Hoke of Middlebury; one brother, Charles (Collette) Williams of Granger; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister; three brothers and one great-granddaughter.

Dorothy was previously employed with the Nappanee Police Department as a dispatcher for several years.

Private memorial services were held and interment is in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 E. Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, was entrusted with her arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Riley Hospital for Children in memory of Dorothy.
