Joseph L. Winstead, 42, of 132 N. Holiday Dr., died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital following an illness of seven weeks. Born in Goshen on Oct. 30, 1920, he moved to South Bend from Niles 15 years ago.

He married Mildred R. Miller on June 23, 1956, in Mishawaka. She survives with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Winstead, of Mishawaka; a son, Joseph, of White Sands, N. M.; a stepson, Ronald A. Miller, of Portsmouth, Va.; and a granddaughter.

Mr. Winstead had been an employee of the Triangle Tool and Die Co. for the last seven years. He was a member of Mishawaka Aerie 2083, Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Friends may call at the Bubble Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka, after 7 p.m. Saturday. Services will be held in the funeral home at p.m. Monday with Rev. Paul O. Hale, pastor of the Baptist Bible Church, Mishawaka, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
