Regina Faye Chester, 62, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born on February 2, 1963, in South Bend, Indiana, to Rose E. (Winston) White and Richard C. Chester Sr.

Regina was raised in a loving family and grew up as a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Studebaker Elementary, Jackson Middle School, and graduated from Riley High School in 1982.

Regina worked as a dedicated housekeeper for many years until her health no longer allowed. She will be remembered for her quick wit, warm presence, and deep love for her family- especially her grandchildren, with whom she cherished spending time.

She leaves to celebrate her life and memory her two daughters, LaKendra Griffin and Karina Griffin; her beloved grandchildren: Armone' Smith, De'Aja Smith, Kinleigh Griffin, Deshyra Shamone Smith, Cortez Moore, Dante Washington, Zayvierre O'Neal, Zayla O'Neal, Zaylo O'Neal, and Julius O'Neal.

Regina is also survived by her siblings: Ramona L. White, Darius White, Richard "Dickie" Chester Jr., and Renee Chester; and her nieces and nephews: Shamikka Frazier, Willie Smith Jr., Erika Herron, SanQuan Frazier, DeShone Chester, Eboni Frazier, Amber Rose White, Denzel Williams, and Jada White. She is also lovingly remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James Robert and Lucretia Winston; paternal grandparents, George and Betsie Chester; her parents, Rose E. (Winston) White and Richard C. Chester Sr.; and her granddaughters, DeShyra Shamone Smith and Zayla Enice O'Neal.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2702 Lincoln Way West, South Bend, IN 46628.

The repast will follow the service and will be held at German Township Community Center, located at 51755 Portage Rd, South Bend, IN 46628.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for all the calls, visits, prayers, and acts of kindness during this difficult time. A special thank you to those who supported Regina during her illness— you are deeply appreciated.
