Douglas A. Daron

Douglas A. Daron, 24, of Southeast Drive, South Bend, Ind., died at 11:20 p.m. Sunday, June 23, in the Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Douglas was born Nov. 29, 1977, in South Bend, to Douglass G. and Joanne L. (Fifer) Daron, who survive. He was a lifetime area resident.
He is also survived by a sister, Heather Daron of South Bend; his maternal grandfather, John "Kenny" Fifer of Mishawaka, Ind.; and aunts and uncles, Libby Fifer of Rhode Island, Deb (Terry) Schuhrke and their children, Jonathon and Erin of California, Becky Fifer of Mishawaka, Mike Fifer of Mishawaka, David (Carol) of South Bend and Susan Daron of South Bend.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Anthony and Marian Daron; maternal grandmother, Ninette Fifer; and by an aunt, Karol Daron.
Doug was employed as an auto mechanic by Gurley-Leep Honda of Elkhart, Ind. He was a graduate of Riley High School, South Bend, and Lincoln Tech.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend, with Rev. Samuel Oliver of Hospice of St. Joseph County officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today, June 26, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may. be made to the American Cancer Society, 535 W. Edison Road, Unit #6, Mishawaka, IN 46545; or to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
Doug was a loving and caring person with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed by everyone.
