Kelley was born on April 25, 1962, in South Bend, Indiana, to Carole and Patrick Simmons. She graduated from Indiana University – Bloomington in 1984 with a BS in Merchandising, and from DePaul University – Chicago in 1991 with a Certificate in Data Program Development. She worked at Walker’s, Chas A. Stevens, Jewel-Osco, Anthropologie, and Endeavor Health Fitness & Wellness Center–Seven Bridges in a data analysis and retailing career spanning 40 years. She married Dale Bauer in 1985, and together they built a life filled with love, children, dogs, laughter, and adventure. She cherished her family and friends and brightened their lives as they brightened hers.

Kelley is survived by her loving husband of nearly 40 years, Dale; their children, Alec Bauer and Jordan (Alyssa) Bauer, brothers Mike (Karen) Simmons and Jim (Carol) Gross, nephews Skyler (Amber) Simmons, Greg (Abi) Simmons, Mitch Gross and Andy Gross, and stepfather Jim Gross Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents Carole and Patrick.

A celebration of Kelley’s life will be held in August 2025. Details to be provided.
