Lenny's grandfather, James Franklin, 1855-1957, was one half Blackfoot Indian, born in Kentucky.

School Story

Lenny quit school in our Junior year, so while the rest of us were beginning our senior year, Lenny was a driver for the Army stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA. It happened that the Queen was in town and there was to be a parade so the Army sent buses of soldiers to Vancouver. BC. Lenny was waiting in his bus when an unaccompanied young child went by and tried to go between the buses; Lenny saw this and took the child (Prince Charles) back to his parents. The Queen, who was about 33 at the time, was extremely grateful and summoned him to thank him.
