Malik Shamar Hardrict, beloved son, brother, and cherished member of the South Bend community, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at the age of 24. Born on April 4, 2001, in South Bend, Indiana, Malik's infectious smile and warm heart touched the lives of all who knew him.

Malik was the treasured son of Michael (China) Hardrict Jr. and Ericia Shelton. He was a source of pride and joy for his maternal grandmother, Eydith Menyard, and was lovingly watched over by his paternal grandfather, Michael Hardrict Sr., and paternal grandmother, Cheryl Wheeler, from Texas. Malik's siblings, Sentail Holt, Sanae Hardrict, Marlin Hardrict, and Michael Hardrict. Aunts, Tyrenia Newsome (Isaiah), Nakisha Williams, special aunt Nicole Galloway, Great Aunt Marcita Patterson and Uncle Eric (Chakesha) Shurn. will forever remember his laughter and the bond we all shared. Malik was preceded in death is his daughter, Malia Lynn Hardrict.

Malik's professional life was dedicated to helping others as he worked in Physical Therapy Transport at Memorial Hospital. His compassion and dedication to patient care were evident in every interaction. Colleagues respected Malik for his work ethic, his willingness to go the extra mile, and his ability to bring light into even the most challenging days. His presence in the hallways of Memorial Hospital will be deeply missed.

As we mourn the loss of Malik Shamar Hardrict, we also celebrate his life and the incredible mark he left on our hearts. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, and the love he shared with his family and friends. Malik's legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his memory will be cherished forever.

In honor of Malik's life, a service will be held to commemorate his journey and the joy he brought into our lives. He will be laid to rest in his hometown of South Bend, where his story began and where it will be lovingly remembered. Malik's departure from this world was too soon, but the memories he created will endure for eternity.

Funeral Services for Malik will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at New Horizon Church, 56165 Mayflower Rd. South Bend, IN 46619. Friends may visit the family from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the church. Burial will immediately follow at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend.
