Ruth E. (Fansler) Ulrich

Ruth Ulrich died while sleeping surrounded by her family at home on October 5, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born May 24, 1914, in La Porte, Indiana. After spending her youth in South Bend, Indiana, she and family moved to Corpus Christi where she lived for 50 years. An avid reader, bridge player, aerobic dancer, and hospital volunteer, she to San Antonio in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bernhard (Barney) Ulrich, Jr.; sister, Rose Marie Fansler Uvardy; and grandson, Joshua Ulrich.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Patterson (Arline) of San Antonio, Texas, Charles Ulrich (Sherry) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Duke Ulrich of Pelsor, Arkansas; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Porter Loring North Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the cancer organization of choice.
