HARVEY, John E. 93, born Sept. 25, 1914, in Baltimore, MD, died on Nov. 3, 2007, at Spring Hill Regional Hospital, Spring Hill, FL. He graduated from the Cornell School of Dairy Management and become a dairy inspector in Indiana.

Subsequent to that, he became a partner in the South Bend Pure Milk Company. Later, he purchased the Mary Ann Drive-in Diner in South Bend, IN, which became a family-owned and operated restaurant. A true businessman whose passion for adventure led him to his next entrepreneurial journey into the frozen food and storage business, Elkhart Cold Storage, where he stored millions of pounds of butter, and thou sands of Claxton's Fruitcakes. Prior to retirement, he was a partner in a plumbing, heating and air conditioning business in downtown Chicago. In the early 80s, he and his beloved wife, May, retired to Timber Pines, Spring Hill, where he spent many blissful years living and helping his neighbors.

He was joyfully married for 63 years to his soulmate, May, who died in 2002. He is survived by his 3 sons, and will be remembered fondly and greatly missed by his grandchildren, John M. Harvey, Pamela Harvey, Benjamin Harvey, Rebecca Hitzing, Danielle Milman, Jason Harvey, and Jaime Anne Harvey; as well as his 4 great grandchildren.

He will be loved and remembered forever as "Grandpa Harvey."

A Memorial Service will be held on Dec. 1, 2007, in the Oak Room at the Timber Pines Lodge, Spring Hill, FL, from 12-3 pm. We wish him everlasting peace with his late wife and the love of his life, May. View Guest Book at www.tampabay.com/obits
