Edwin Herman Ukele

March 1, 1917 - April 26, 2001

Edwin Ukele, 84, of River Shore Lane, Elkhart, passed away at 7 a.m. in Hospice House in South Bend of natural causes on April 26, 2001. Mr. Ukele was born March 1, 1917, in Salem, Michigan to Otto and Lidia (Jedele) Ukele. On July 21, 1940, he married June D. Ukele in South Bend, Indiana. June preceded him in death.

Surviving are his sons, Barry Ukele and his wife, Karen of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Dennis Ukele and his wite, Patsy of Cape Coral, Florida. Also surviving are five granddaughters, Carmen Wojtysiak, Carla Price and Coleen Manspeaker, all of Mishawaka, Cara Hudson of South Bend, and Denise Starks of Tampa, Florida, along with 11 great granchildren.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2001, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Osceola, Ind. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, handling arrangements.

Mr. Ukele was a charter member of the Michiana Walleye Association in Mishawaka, the Masonic Lodge #183 In Kane and the Scottish Rite Elkhart, South Bend, as well as the Elkhart Moose Lodge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Ed and June Ukele Scholarship fund through the Michiana Walleye Association at 13040 Day Road. Mishawaka, IN 46545
