Mary Ellen Lobeck, 94, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012, in Hospice House of South Bend, Indiana. Mary was born on October 19, 1917, in South Bend to Homer Lee and Edna Mae (Kettring) Longbrake. On April 15, 1939, Mary Ellen married Paul A. Lobeck who preceded her in death on December 14, 1993. Her son, Gary A. Lobeck also preceded her in death on March 11, 2000, and a sister, Doris L. Mitchell. Surviving are her grandchildren, Erika (Andy) Huemmer and Sara (Tim) Bolle; great grandchildren, Hannah Huemmer, Jena Bolle and Taylor Bolle; and her daughter-in-law, Christine Lobeck of Granger, Indiana. Mary Ellen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of South Bend, had been employed with the former Studebaker Corporation, and was a 1935 graduate of Riley High School. The family would like to thank The Center for Hospice Staff especially Karen Hudson her nurse and Karen Smith her social worker, and the staff at Waterford at Edison Lakes especially Pam Hazinski, her caregiver.
