SOUTH BEND Carol Van Zant, 76, of East Bowman Street, died Saturday morning in her home of natural causes. Mrs. VanZant was born Jan. 29, 1918, in South Bend.

On Sept. 12, 1941, in South Bend, as Carol L. Collier, she married Charles R. Van Zant. He survives with two sons, John A of Phoenix, and James E. of South Bend, two grandsons: five sisters, Esther and Phyllis Cass, both of Mishawaka, Lois Harry of Summerfield, Fla, Eunice Minich of Ocala, Fla., and Irene Tauber of Marcellus; and a brother, Raymond Collier of South Bend,

She was member of Ridgedale Presbyterian Church and its choir.

Services will be at 11 a.m Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Monday in Hollis Orvis Palmer Funeral Home and after 10 am Tuesday in the church.
