Marcelle E. (Henry) Nagy
Feb. 8, 1919 – May 14, 2006
Marcelle Nagy, 87, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 5:00 a.m.Sunday, May 14, 2006, in St.Paul’s Healthcare Center. She was born on February 8, 1919, in South Bend, as the daughter of William Oliver and Vida Iris (Ourebeck) Henry.
Mrs. Nagy is survived by a daughter, Connie Dean of Anaheim Hills, CA; a granddaughter, Kimberly Caldwell of Honolulu, HI; a brother and sister- in-law, Norman W. and Margaret Henry of Springboro, OH.
Mrs.Nagy was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Gerald Gibbons; second husband, Alex Nagy; a granddaughter, Tracy Dean; and by two brothers, Calvin and Robert Henry. Mrs.Nagy was a lifelong resident.
She began her career in 1950 as a board marker at E.L. Lowitz Company and was promoted to stockbroker at Prudential Financial which later became Wachovia Securities. Mrs. Nagy was the first woman stockbroker in the State of Indiana. She served hundreds of clients in the South Bend area before retiring in 1990. She was a member of the First Brethren Church, and was a 42-year member and past president of the Pilot Club of South Bend.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan St., South Bend, IN. Rev. Larry Baker, pastor of the First Brethren Church, South Bend, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, where the Pilot Club of South Bend will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m.
