Katheryn (Johnson) Nowicki

Katheryn J. Nowicki, 52, of 919 Sussex Dr., died at 4 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Hospital after an extended illness. Born Jan. 11, 1919, in South Bend, as Katheryn Johnson, she was married to Sebastian J. Nowicki on Nov. 7, 1942. He is a teacher and athletic coach at Washington High School.

Surviving besides her husband are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson of South Bend; four sons, Thomas J., Dennis R., James M., and John P., all at home; two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Stalker of Coldwater, Mich., and Miss Patricia J. Nowicki, at home; two grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Johnson and William Johnson, both of South Bend, and two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Inglis of Hammond, Ind., and Mrs. Judith Wilson of South Bend.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Rev. Joseph A. Jacobs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society
